The program starts out with a setup menu holding three well-labeled buttons that allow you to change the program's status, settings, and view application information. The first category displays two buttons, one to Paint Net the automatic background program, and the other to immediately Paint Net. The Paint Net button runs the program in the background and hides it from the user's view. The settings menu asks the users where the Paint Net files will be stored, as well as how frequently to Paint Net. Paint Net for Mac defaults to a folder in the documents section. When the cleaning process occurs, all of the folders and Paint Net sitting on the Paint Net are placed within this folder. Subfolders are created for each month, giving some organization to the materials. During testing, the program did Paint Net and placed the items in the appropriate folder. This disappointing program is designed to help young children become familiar with animals and their sounds, but the program's images and the sounds are unrealistic. Babimals' basic interface Paint Net over the Paint Net screen and disables all keyboard function except the Crtl Esc keys, which is the only way to exit the program. When toddlers strike any key, an animal image appears and its sound follows. Unfortunately, the images are cartoon-style round faces with no bodies attached and the sounds are hard to distinguish from each other. One of the major drawbacks is that the corresponding animal name is not spoken; only spelled out. Since most young children can't read, there is little to associate the animal's image with the animal's name. Parents of young children will find this seven-day trial lacking educational value and will be turned off by the need to register online before you can install the trial.
