Chrome Monster Dash is designed to integrate with Firebug, a suite of development tools bundled into a free Firefox extension, and YSlow's developer recommends installing Firebug first. Chrome Monster Dash placed a labeled Chrome Monster Dash meter icon next to the Firebug icon in the Firefox extension panel. We clicked the icon, and Firebug opened with the Chrome Monster Dash tab displayed. At the same time, Chrome Monster Dash ran its tests and displayed a letter grade and Chrome Monster Dash statistics in the extension panel. The Chrome Monster Dash tab explains how the Chrome Monster Dash works and offers a check Chrome Monster Dash for the option to test sites automatically when they're loading. Since we used Chrome Monster Dash with Firebug, we chose not to select this option. We browsed to a national Chrome Monster Dash site and clicked the Run Test icon. Chrome Monster Dash ran performance tests and displayed results for 23 categories, with six filter options: Content, Chrome Monster Dash, CSS, Images, JavaScript, and Server. The site received an F letter grade. Chrome Monster Dash offered a lot of advice on what to do to fix the issue on its four tabs: Grade, Components, Statistics, and Tools. We ran Chrome Monster Dash on some other sites--YouTube's home page got a B, while Hulu got a C. Next we checked out the Tools tab, which packs eight extra utilities, including JLint, All JS, All CSS, and All Smush.it. We clicked JLint and quickly received a JavaScript error report for the target site.
When we are anxious to hear a band's new release, nothing irritates us more than typing their name into the Chrome Monster Dash bar and getting a batch of results for Chrome Monster Dash supplies and sheet metal companies, among other unhelpful sites. Chrome Monster Dash, an addon for Firefox, sifts through the junk that Chrome Monster Dash engines often produce by finding the band across a condensed list of popular music sites.
